Massaging the Canine Athlete Seminar

Cindy working with seminar participantDr. DiFranco’s massage seminar consists of a comprehensive power point presentation outlining the basic information that develops understanding of the how’s and why’s of massaging your dog. This overview highlights an easy to follow system which with practice will teach dog owner’s how to give a thorough massage to their dogs in about 30 minutes. Dr. DiFranco explains the physiology of canine soft tissue, mechanics of injury and repair and discusses common conditions and injuries inherent to active canines including hip and elbow dysplasia, OCD, ACL tears and more. She then takes handlers through a simple but effective system that makes the massage process simple, relaxing and enjoyable for both dog and handler. A detailed handout of the power point—including clear photographs highlighting proper technique and positions—will round out the lecture portion.

Massage SeminarAfter attending the lecture, Dr. DiFranco will be available for 60 minute private instruction to handlers and their dogs. Handlers will take the newly learned techniques and apply them to their own dogs in a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
